"Talk Radio Stew"
(Comfort Food)

Combine one Radio Station
38 states
Throw in half of Canada
And Season to taste –

Every good recipe begins with good stock
Yet, quality ingredients are key to great talk –

Seasoned chef Gary Dickson
The difference does make
Assuring a talk show “Well done”
And never “Half baked”
His secret revealed
Two years tried and true,
Behold Gary’s recipe for “Talk Radio Stew”

First, set the dial on 1020
Heat the aforementioned stock –
Add these secret ingredients
And whip up great talk –

Start with Smackey, the clown.
And Earl the mystic, add Zelie Bob to the mix
And Ann the ballistic
Fold in several truck drivers
Interweaving the states
A payload of Wisdom, fueled by their faith –

A smidgeon of Lorna, a pinch that of Nan –
A dash that of Adam, Tom, T.L, Jo Ann –

A teaspoon of Pat, a bird counting sort –
A dollop of Darrell, from Johnstown New York
A cup full of J.T. to give it some spice –
Then, a good dose of Elaine’s holistic medical advice –

Add a sleepy-eyed poet,
With two boys and a wife
An encounter with God
Who changed then, his life –

Heat well and serve, up to 65k
From Midnight to five
Each and every weekday

It’ll stick to your ribs,
And is good for the Soul –
Stop by “After Midnight”
And have a big bowl –

Craved by Atheists, Christians
And those on the fence
Hot and fresh every morning
With a side of respect –
