TO DIE FOR

The things of the Joneses I wanted so bad.
Their huge stately home, the cars that they had.
Out of my league, I felt often sad.
Why them? Not I? Lacking in wisdom,
The thought made me mad.

That was back when,
And now is, well... now.
My life has been changed,
For the better... and how!

Now I am rich,
And my blessings do flow -
I have all that I need,
But, this much you need to know -

The Joneses house is still bigger,
As well as their cars.
Their grounds are "To die for!"
Yet, I can live with my yard.

Their account, that of Swiss,
Hides the riches they need,
While my local one-liner reeks
Of minimal cheese.

You see, the riches I speak of,
Come at a very dear price.
By the life, love and death
Of God's son, Jesus Christ.

I was offered these riches at the Calvary Tree,
Yet, I took not possession,
Until I fell to my knees.

I begged God to save me, in broken despair,
His will be done, He made me His heir.
Heir to his mansion, I hold now the key,
Where "Love is to die for."
As did Jesus for Me!
