THE ALKALINE / ACID BALANCE
From Elaine

Aloe Vera juice will help you to enjoy your coffee without the pain of acid reflux. I use Swanson's brand. It’s cheap and it tastes just fine. Aloe Vera coats the stomach, repairs damage and helps to restore the mucosal lining.

If you aren’t crazy about the taste, just add it to any non-acid juice like orange or tomato first thing in the morning before eating or drinking anything else. Grape, cranberry and apple juices are good choices.

The only other suggestion is to make your juice 2/3 juice and 1/3 water to cut down on the amount of sugar intake. This helps with weight control and the added water helps lubricate the joints.

Please let our friends know that drinking the proper amount of water for your weight in ounces helps improve any pains occurring in the body. The suggested amount is ½ ounce for every pound of body weight.

Remember that the body is 75% water and needs to maintain that delicate balance to transport vitamins and minerals throughout the important organ systems.

Below is a list of foods that help keep the body in an alkaline/acid balance.
