The production of this program comes as a result of many requests from former listeners of my radio show, which went off the air in February 2008. They have asked me to produce a podcast on the website, so they can continue listening to something similar to what they enjoyed over the broadcast airwaves.

Deeper Currents’ purpose is twofold; to continue the sense of “family” and “community” so often mentioned as a reason for listening to the former radio show. And, to use this medium, in a small way, help others make some sense of their lives.

We are all basically striving for the same thing --- Contentment. The dictionary defines contentment as: “The state of being contented; satisfaction; ease of mind.” It is my belief that we only find the answers to life by conducting an active search. Living life deliberately, as Henry David Thoreau described in his book “On Walden Pond”. Do most men really live lives of quiet desperation? I believe they do.

If we go through life only reacting to our current conditions, with no defined goals, we are destined to end up lost. Let us therefore commit ourselves to aspire to a fulfilling life. I will share whatever I learn with you on this journey. I hope you will consider sharing your wisdom with our audience as well.
